Marie Rose sauce
Marie Rose sauce, sometimes referred to as cocktail sauce, originates from the United Kingdom. Traditionally made using a blend of tomatoes, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and freshly ground pepper (Sometimes with the addition of Brandy and paprika or Cayenne as a garnish). Sometimes a a basic version is made by simply mixing Tomato Ketchup and mayonnaise, however this method is not as refined as the original.
Marie rose sauce was created in the early 1960’s and is most commonly served with the infamous ‘Prawn Cocktail’ hence it’s most well known name, Cocktail sauce. A great match for most seafood, crab, prawns, shrimps and more …
