What is Gnocchi?
Gnocchis are an Italian pasta that is traditionally made from mashed potatoes, flour, and eggs. In some alternative recipes sweet potatoes are substituted for mashed potatoes. In other versions, ricotta cheese is added to the dough before it is rolled, shaped, and boiled.
How is Gnocchi served?
You can eat gnocchi with many different sauces. Some of the most popular preparations are a classic tomato marinara, tossed in sage and browned butter, dressed with lemon, olive oil and goat cheese, or baked with cheeses and finished with a golden crispy crust topping.
