Anna Blixhavn
Anna was born and raised in a remote location on the Discovery Islands of BC. Discovering her passion for cooking and baking as a child, she made a plan to achieve her dream career.
During her teenage years she worked at destination resorts on the BC coastline as well as ran a farmers market booth serving hot lunch and baked goods. She pursued professional culinary and pastry arts at Vancouver Island University and achieved her Red Seal Trade Certificate. While doing so, she worked in Tofino, Campbell River and Nanaimo in bakeries, Relais et Chateaux resort property, and a Greek steakhouse.
Upon arriving in the Okanagan, she worked for wineries, Sparkling Hill Resort, and SilverStar Mountain Resort. It was here she honed her skill set and expanded her capabilities. After her day job, Anna has turned her special passion for catering, fine dining experiences and the pastry arts into putting forth magical moments in the form of weddings and milestone events in her community. She spends her free time creating and serving her family and friends multi course meals, alongside beverage pairings from the bountiful Okanagan.
Best described as European-Canadian fusion, Anna’s menus feature local ingredients and ideas from her lifetime of exposure to the wonders of the province prepared in the most authentic to each item’s ways. If you’re celebrating something special, the final course of dessert will be sure to awe everyone at your table! With more than a decade in the industry she is excited to delve deeper into private fine dining experiences and showcasing her strengths!
